Craniosacral Therapy: Balancing the Nervous System through Science-Backed Techniques

Craniosacral Therapy offers a non-invasive, gentle approach to balancing the nervous system from within. This therapy aims to harmonize the cranial sacral system, release tension, and dissolve energy cysts throughout the body, ultimately guiding individuals of all ages—from newborns to adults—toward homeostasis.

The foundation of this technique is rooted in the understanding that cerebrospinal fluid circulates in a semi-closed hydraulic system, resulting in a detectable cranial sacral rhythm. Therapists can monitor this rhythm anywhere in the body, using it to identify signs of imbalance, restrictions, or compression within the cranial vault. More recent research has proven the highly important glymphatic system enclosed within this system. The glymphatic system is a special vascular network that is vital to our nervous system aka the brain! This nutritive fluid consists of immune factors, blood and nutrients and more importantly toxic waste products that must be eliminated for proper brain, mental and body processes. In fact, this fluid houses the neurotransmitters that make us feel good, aroused, excited, or angry, even frozen in fear!

Studies have shown that when this fluid is not allowed to flow freely, such as from stress, muscle tension, poor posture, injury, illness or physical obstruction...devastating results can happen!

Craniosacral therapists provide subtle assessment, treatment and encouraging of the fascial system that encases the brain and spinal cord, as well as the extremities. This light touch work has deep, yet profound results.

Craniosacral Therapy stands out as one of the gentlest approaches to healing at any age. The slow, deliberate pace allows the body to maintain adjustments and changes without quickly reverting to its previous state. Moreover, the body continues to adjust and heal for several days after a session, providing ongoing benefits that seem to never end. In fact, you'll probably hear me say...

"It's not always what happens in the session but what happens after the session".
